Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Exercise independent editorial judgment across assigned brands, making decisions that uphold quality, consistency, and compliance.
  • Manage the editorial needs of multiple large accounts with minimal supervision.
  • Own consumer workstreams end-to-end, applying brand voice and style with confidence.
  • Begin working on, and possibly leading, HCP work, including complex scientific content, with guidance as needed.
  • Perform substantive copyediting to enhance clarity, flow, and scientific integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with AMA style and brand-specific guidelines.
  • Fact-check claims and references against source materials.
  • Perform check changes reviews on layouts and final materials for typographic and formatting accuracy.
  • In collaboration with Copy, help maintain and update brand editorial style guides.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and thorough editorial reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Writing, Health Sciences, or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2+ years of editorial experience, preferably in healthcare marketing, pharmaceutical advertising, or medical communications.
  • Proven ability to make independent editorial decisions and manage complex projects with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient in AMA editorial style.
  • Strong understanding of medical and pharmaceutical terminology.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when needed to meet deadlines
