Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Grow Dezenhall’s network of influencers, subject matter experts, vendors and capabilities with an emphasis on state and local government and media
  • Conceive and execute creative, impactful and integrated public affairs programs for clients
  • Distill complex issues into broadly applicable communications, delivered through a variety of voices and channels
  • Develop and maintain strong media and third-party and advocacy relationships in key local markets, state capitals and nationally
  • Project manage complex issue campaigns on behalf of account leaders and senior staff
  • Effectively manage client deliverables, on-time and on-budget
  • Write effective and persuasive client and third-party deliverables, including messaging documents, narratives, opinion editorials, white papers, memos, creative digital campaigns, and more
  • Assisting the Dezenhall team to develop new business proposals and participate in potential client pitches and presentations

Requirements

  • 6-12 years of professional experience in politics, communications, public affairs, media or advocacy roles. Specific experience may include political campaigns, public affairs or public relations agencies, corporate government or media affairs, journalism or digital media.
  • Meticulously organized and detail-oriented, with the capacity to multitask, manage competing priorities, and deliver elite work on time
  • Extremely strong writing and editing skills
  • Experience and/or interest in developing meaningful relationships with journalists, editors, producers, third party issue advocates, clients and vendors
  • Ability to distill complicated concepts into digestible plans, messaging, presentations and other work products
  • Excels in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines and high expectations
  • Works well as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Ability to take initiative, think and react quickly, and problem solve
  • Understand the ever-changing media and political landscape
  • Proficiency in, or willingness to learn, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Canva and Adobe
