Job Summary

Own the media and influencer relations for a CPG client roster, aligning with senior leadership on communications strategy and delivering written materials, while guiding a small team and maintaining editor relationships.

  • Media & Influencer Relations: Own outreach, product placements, and creator partnerships to shape consumer coverage.
  • Campaign & Messaging: Draft press materials and help steer client strategies with the team.
  • Account Leadership & Collaboration: Manage an Account Coordinator, keep leadership in the loop on big ideas and opportunities, and sustain key media ties.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Media & Influencer Relations: Own media outreach and creator partnerships for a client portfolio, with emphasis on product placement and consumer coverage.
  • Campaign & Messaging: Partner with senior executives to execute strategic communications campaigns and draft key materials for division clients.
  • Media Relationships: Build and maintain a broad network of media contacts across long‑lead, short‑lead, and digital publications.
  • Content Materials: Draft press releases, pitches, media lists, and messaging documents for major clients and contribute to client strategies.
  • Account Leadership: Serve as day‑to‑day contact for select accounts and guide day‑to‑day activities of an Account Coordinator.
  • Team Management: Assign and supervise daily tasks of the Account Coordinator and keep Division head apprised of status and opportunities.
  • Strategic Ideation: Organize and lead brainstorm sessions with internal team members to generate ideas and opportunities.
  • Talent & Creator Relationships: Manage relationships with managers and representatives for content creators and talent.
  • New Business & Pitches: Participate in new business pitch submissions and meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Five to six years of experience
  • Three years of experience managing others
  • Demonstrated experience in working within the CPG space is required; experience with talent is preferred
  • Prior agency experience is required
  • A 4-year college degree
  • Existing relationships with long lead, short lead and digital editors
  • A strong and current understanding of social media platforms and notable content creators
  • Ability to think both strategically and creatively to connect the dots for clients
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to work with people at all levels
