Own media relations for multiple clients by leading story discovery, outreach to high value targets, and messaging across campaigns.

  • Write and align press materials, brief clients on interview topics, and manage client communications to recalibrate expectations.
  • Stay ahead on industry trends, AI relevance, and regulatory issues shaping client narratives.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Proactively search for story opportunities and industry trends and proactively place stories in the media.
  • Conduct media outreach, focusing on higher value media targets and directing junior staff.
  • Write press releases, blog posts, media queries, bylines and social media posts. Edit and align with strategic messaging of the campaign. Meet all compliance requirements.
  • Brief client on anticipated topics and themes of interviews and appearances. Prepare and draft talking points to be approved by the Vice President, to share with the client in a timely fashion in advance of appearance.
  • Support VP in onboarding new clients - implementing scope of work, creating a messaging matrix, identifying short and long term campaign goals, etc.
  • Actively engage and communicate with clients as required via email, phone, video conference, or in-person, and assume an increasingly senior role in addressing client concerns, recalibrating client expectations, addressing client concerns and issues.
  • Attend, participate and lead client calls and briefings as specified by the Vice President. Provide strategic input, analysis and feedback on client calls in addition to providing updates and statuses.
  • Stay current and add to personal understanding of issues, processes, terms, products, and regulations specific to clients industries by reading and subscribing to appropriate media, blogs, social feeds, etc. Master increasingly sophisticated issues that impact clients’ business and industry.
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, or a similar major.
  • Four to seven years PR experience.
  • Passion for media relations
  • Understanding of AI and how it can support work
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Team first attitude, ability to work with junior and senior team members
  • Client service oriented
  • Adaptable to changing work demands and priorities; detail oriented
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Organized and effective multi-tasker
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and operational and productivity tools
  • Candidates must be in commuting distance to our Philadelphia-area office.
Preferred
  • Interest and/or experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
