Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Generate positive publicity for the island of Ireland as a compelling destination for US travellers to visit, and ensure strong brand appeal among target audience, via the development of a planned programme of targeted activities.
  • Support both the publicity and consumer marketing teams by activating and developing integrated publicity strategies that elevate paid media efforts and strengthen partnership and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of high-impact publicity activities and ensure effective communication with stakeholders, media, and consumers.
  • Accompany group press trips and / or film crews on location as required, ensuring smooth logistics and effective media engagement.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key media contacts, industry stakeholders, and Tourism Ireland colleagues ensuring timely management of media inquiries and opportunities.
  • Identify and develop new media contacts aligned with business priorities (luxury, culinary, outdoor activities, sustainable travel, business events).
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a program of in-person events and promotions such as the annual Marketing Plan Launch, Ministerial visits, media receptions, sales missions, etc.
  • Project manage events, coordinating responsibilities with publicity and communications team as well as colleagues across all relevant departments.
  • Represent Tourism Ireland at industry, press, and corporate events as required.
  • Collaboration with Advertising and Consumer Engagement team:
  • Develop and execute earned storylines that support major partnership and sponsorships, such as creating media angles for consumer brand partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the Digital & Content Marketing Executive to repurpose high-quality press coverage and influencer content for Tourism Ireland’s paid media campaigns, owned social channels, and email newsletters.
  • Assist in implementing the digital publicity strategy in collaboration with the broader PR team and ensure timely internal communications so colleagues are informed and have access to all relevant digital content.
  • Track media coverage, ensuring all outputs are captured effectively by Tourism Ireland service providers, and maintain reports as related to owned projects to establish performance against agreed targets.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR policies and internal procedures within the scope of roles responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably requested by the company.

Requirements

  • A third level qualification in Marketing / Communications / Business or Media Studies.
  • Experience creating/ editing video content for digital and social channels.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, budget management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with the full Consumer Marketing and Publicity teams, balancing the fast-paced nature of publicity with the long-lead planning required for advertising, sponsorships, and partnerships.
  • An integrated mindset and basic understanding of the marketing funnel and how earned, owned, and paid media work together to drive results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Track record of developing and delivering innovative and impactful presentations as well as an ability to produce high quality briefing materials.
  • 3 years' experience and record of achievement in a media relations or similar role.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of the island of Ireland and its tourism product.
  • Experience working in the Leisure/Tourism/Hospitality sector.
