Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and execution of integrated communications strategies for the firm’s global insurance platform
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior investment and business leaders, translating complex insurance and credit market dynamics into clear, compelling narratives for external audiences
  • Drive proactive and reactive media relations—cultivating relationships with key financial, insurance, and trade journalists; developing messaging; and managing press engagement around transactions, earnings, and strategic milestones
  • Lead executive communications efforts including thought leadership, speaking platforms, bylined articles, and high-profile announcements for senior leaders
  • Coordinate closely with communications colleagues across regions to ensure consistency of messaging and alignment on cross-platform and cross-border initiatives
  • Contribute to broader global corporate communications priorities, including high-stakes projects, emerging issues, and firm-wide campaigns as they arise
  • Monitor the insurance, credit, and broader financial services competitive landscape to identify communications opportunities and inform positioning
  • Play a central role in crisis communications and reputational risk management, providing counsel and rapid-response support when situations arise

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in financial communications, with a portion spent in or around the insurance, reinsurance, or credit markets
  • Direct experience in insurance-sector communications, including familiarity with regulatory dynamics, ratings agency processes, and the financial fundamentals of life, annuity, or reinsurance businesses
  • Strong working knowledge of private credit and broader private markets (e.g., private equity, real assets, leveraged finance); experience at an alternative asset manager, investment bank, insurer, or top-tier financial communications agency strongly preferred
  • Established relationships with financial and insurance trade media; demonstrated track record of securing high-quality coverage and managing sensitive press situations
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, finance, or communications a plus
  • Strategic mindset—ability to see around corners, anticipate issues, and develop communications plans that advance business objectives
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and message-development skills with the ability to distill complex financial and insurance concepts for diverse audiences
  • Deep financial literacy—comfortable interpreting earnings, credit ratings, capital structures, and regulatory developments and translating them into communications strategy
  • Executive presence and the confidence to advise, influence, and collaborate with senior leaders across investment, legal, and business teams
  • Relationship builder who instinctively cultivates networks—across newsrooms, industry forums, and internal stakeholder groups
