Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans tailored to parent audiences, utilizing various media platforms including social media, email newsletters, and press releases.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parent inquiries, providing prompt, accurate, and empathetic responses.
  • Write, edit, and proofread all communication materials ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to AP style guidelines.
  • Organize and deliver engaging public speaking presentations at parent meetings, workshops, or community events to foster open dialogue.
  • Conduct research on best practices in parent engagement and incorporate journalism techniques to craft compelling stories that resonate with families.
  • Manage media relations by coordinating press releases and liaising with local media outlets to share organizational updates.
  • Monitor social media channels for feedback or concerns from parents; respond proactively to maintain a positive online presence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in public relations, journalism, or communications with excellent writing skills.
  • Strong proficiency in AP style for professional writing and editing tasks.
  • Exceptional public speaking abilities with experience presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of media relations strategies and social media management tools.
  • Ability to research effectively and translate complex information into accessible content for families.
  • Experience in proofreading and editing to ensure error-free communication materials.
