Own media relations and strategic communications for UNC Health Johnston across earned, crisis and internal channels, turning organizational stories into visible coverage and trusted narratives for stakeholders.

• Leads media relations efforts for UNC Health Johnston, especially for business, political and mental health issues. Collaborates with UNC HCS media relations efforts.
• Coordinates media relations and media requests in a timely manner. Works with media representatives from print, TV, radio, online and more to promote UNC Health Johnston. Prepares and disseminates news releases and media advisories. Organizes press conferences.
• Cultivates and nurtures relationships with media representatives to promote UNC Health Johnston. Looks to expand outlets that highlight UNC Health Johnston. Develops relationships with UNC Health Johnston physicians and teammates to identify compelling stories from across the organization. Works with various service lines to identify areas of focus and new strategic initiatives
• Prepares speeches, talking points and fact sheets. Writes feature stories for publications and newsletters.
• Works with UNC Health Johnston Marketing department leadership to manage crisis and emergency public relations situations in a confidential manner to preserve the positive reputation of UNC Health Johnston. Serves as a representative for UNC Health Johnston at various community events.
• Coordinates internal communications to teammates and medical staff through newsletters, websites, meetings, posters, bulletins, etc.
• Develops external marketing communications collateral such as direct mail pieces, quarterly print pieces, etc.
