Responsibilities

• The Marketing & Tourism Officer will be responsible for communicating the City of Alvin's story and promoting and overseeing the day-to day marketing operations of the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB).
• The Marketing & Tourism Officer is responsible for media relations, special projects, oversight of content on the city website and oversight of the city's social media platforms.
• The office curates and crafts content about various departments, employees, programs, and initiatives within the organization and works collaboratively with community partners.
• This position reports to the Communications Manager.
• The City recognizes the value of citizen engagement that includes a proactive approach.

Requirements

• Requires bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, tourism, hospitality, or related field with at least two years of relevant experience in said field.
• Any combination of experience and education which provide the applicant with the level of required knowledge and abilities will be considered.
• Excellent written, oral, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license.
