Job Summary

Own and coordinate city department public engagement across education, outreach, and volunteer programs, shaping strategic initiatives and serving as a spokesperson while protecting brand and community relations.

  • Oversee volunteer programs, partnerships, and content while safeguarding brand standards.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manages public information, marketing, outreach and education, development, and volunteer programs.
  • Participates in developing and communicating strategic initiatives.
  • Plans, develops, and directs marketing, development, outreach, and education efforts.
  • Develops and presents comprehensive public education programs for varying audiences.
  • Prepares and recommends the purchase of educational materials for education programs.
  • Oversees volunteer program and provides direction to increase volunteer engagement.
  • Develops and organizes plans for news conferences and other major announcements.
  • Provides public relations support to the Director and staff through talking points, fact sheets, and other activities.
  • Participates in creating and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners and community donors.
  • Upholds and protects brand standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a closely related field
  • four (4) years of professional experience in journalism, public relations or marketing.
  • Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state by time of appointment.
