Job Description

Responsibilities

  • This is responsible administrative, supervisory, and production oriented-work managing the development and implementation of a wide range of municipal marketing, public information, and promotional activities.
  • This position provides day-to-day leadership and clear direction to staff engaged in marketing and communications functions including supervision of project coordinators who serve as client representatives to City departments, supporting marketing needs for programs, initiatives, and events.
  • This position ensures projects are executed efficiently, consistently and in alignment with City priorities.
  • Work includes overseeing project intake, establishing priorities and developing and maintaining efficient workflows to support the timely delivery of high-quality creative and communications products.
  • This position ensures effective coordination between departments and the marketing team, maintaining strong communication and service delivery.
  • This position works closely with the Marketing Director to implement strategy, provide input on priorities, and ensure operational effectiveness across marketing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Have a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Have considerable progressive experience in marketing, communications, public relations, social media campaigns, and/or branding.
  • Have considerable progressive supervisory or managerial experience in a related field.
  • Be able to plan, coordinate, and supervise creative marketing employees in the development of marketing and promotional materials and City related branding campaigns.
  • Be able to facilitate and maintain positive relationships with local media, community leaders, elected officials, citizens, business owners, City Administration, and other City departments.
  • Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, an applicant must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.

Preferred

  • Have a valid Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing, public administration, advertising, business administration or a related field.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of television production, graphic design, and print shop operations.
  • Have prior experience in marketing with a local government.
