Job Summary

Own cross functional marketing leadership for live events, guiding team culture, campaign strategy, and artist/agency partnerships to drive ticket sales and consistent earned media, with real time optimization across budgets and ROAS.

Job Description

Responsibilities - Team Oversight: Supervise the marketing department’s daily activities to meet or exceed ticket sales goals. - Team Oversight: Set team-wide standards for campaign quality, timelines, and output across all First Avenue venues and event types. - Team Oversight: Serve as a strong people manager who builds trust, develops talent, and creates clarity for direct reports. - Team Oversight: Improve cross-functional collaboration between creative, marketing, and digital functions. - Team Oversight: Establish processes and systems that allow teams to work efficiently without sacrificing quality or creativity. - Campaign Oversight: Own campaign strategy for concerts and events across all First Avenue venues; ensure paid media, earned media/PR, and organic tactics are integrated and effective. - Campaign Oversight: Monitor ticket sales and campaign KPIs; adjust tactics in real-time to optimize outcomes. - Campaign Oversight: Oversee marketing budget allocation across events; track ROAS and performance. - Campaign Oversight: Manage advertising budgets and projections across the marketing department. - Campaign Oversight: Use data and performance insights to inform strategy and drive continuous improvement. - Artist & Partner Relations: Liaise with artist management, tour marketers, and agents to align on marketing plans, budgets, and promotional opportunities. - Artist & Partner Relations: Maintain day-to-day relationships with outside promoter partners. - Artist & Partner Relations: Coordinate marketing efforts with artist agency marketing departments, managing key relationships with important industry marketers. - Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with internal teams including booking, marketing, ticketing, and venue operations to ensure cohesive and effective campaigns and processes. - Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with the booking team on show announcement timing, marketing windows, and promotional strategies for new events. - Cross-Functional Coordination: Oversee media/PR and communication strategies that generate consistent earned media coverage of First Avenue’s concerts, events, and brand. - Sponsorship & Revenue Development: Support the development of sponsorships and ancillary revenue streams. - Sponsorship & Revenue Development: Assist with the First Avenue membership program. - Sponsorship & Revenue Development: Identify company-wide marketing opportunities around major announcements or events. - Sponsorship & Revenue Development: Develop advertising strategies and coordinate budgets to maximize collective marketing impact. Requirements - 7–10+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on live events or ticketed entertainment. - At least 3–5 years in a people management role, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team. - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Proven track record managing multi-show marketing campaigns with measurable ticket sales outcomes. - Experience leading full-cycle campaign planning from initial on-sale through final push. - Experience working directly with artist and agency marketing teams. - Demonstrated experience managing advertising budgets and reporting on ROAS and performance outcomes. - Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms, including Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, and email marketing platforms (Hive/Mailchimp). - Data-driven mindset with the ability to track performance, interpret results, and adjust strategy accordingly. - Experience building, segmenting, and activating email and SMS databases using CRM platforms. - Proven ability to manage and optimize paid digital campaigns across Meta, Google, TikTok, and related platforms, with a focus on conversion and ROI. - Experience with industry-standard ticketing platforms (AXS, Etix, Ticketmaster, etc.) preferred. - Strong project management skills and experience working with cross-functional teams. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. - Interest in improving processes via new technology, systems, and tools, including AI-powered software. - Highly organized with the ability to manage high-volume, fast-turnaround workflows across simultaneous events. - Passion for live music and entertainment. - Must be able to work Monday through Friday, typically between 9am and 7pm, with shifts that may vary between 8–10 hours. Occasional availability on nights and/or weekends required. - Regular in-office attendance required at the Minneapolis office, with travel to venues throughout Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and surrounding cities as needed. - Must be 18 years of age or older or older?
