Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supports marketing, digital communications, social media, multimedia content, website updates, email communications, event promotion, event support, and brand-aligned materials for CE-CERT and related BCOE research, academic programs, outreach, recruitment, and engagement initiatives.
  • Works with CE-CERT faculty, staff, students, research groups, BCOE departments, research centers, and campus partners to gather content and prepare communications for programs, events, campaigns, research highlights, student success stories, partnerships, and special initiatives.
  • Creates and schedules social media content, captures and edits photos and short-form video, designs basic digital and print materials, supports email campaigns and newsletters, updates website content, assists with event communications and day-of-event needs, maintains content calendars, and tracks basic engagement metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • Experience working in a marketing or communications environment.
  • Experience in a higher education or public sector setting.
  • Experience with content management systems.
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Working knowledge of basic marketing and communications principles, concepts, and best practices.
  • Skill in creating basic digital and print marketing materials using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Express, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or similar platforms.
  • Ability to capture, edit, format, and organize basic photo and short-form video content for social media, websites, email communications, and event promotion.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage files, content calendars, project trackers, deadlines, and multiple communication requests.

Preferred

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to create clear and audience-appropriate content.
  • Experience supporting email campaigns, newsletters, websites, social media scheduling, analytics, digital signage, or related digital communications tools.
  • Experience supporting events, event promotion, or day-of communications coverage.
  • Familiarity with higher education, research centers, nonprofit, public-sector, or mission-driven communications.
  • Ability to translate research, academic, technical, or program information into accessible content for general audiences.
  • Ability to learn and follow brand, accessibility, captioning, alt text, photo/video consent, and approval requirements for marketing and communications materials.
