Support AAAS marketing and communications across content creation, campaign prep, data reporting, events, and admin within a structured internship.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • 30% Marketing & Communications Support: Assist with drafting and editing content for emails, websites, and social media.
  • 25% Campaign & Engagement Assistance: Support recruitment campaigns by preparing assets, reviewing links, and performing quality checks.
  • 20% Data, Reporting & Evaluation Exposure: Assist with compiling basic engagement metrics (e.g. email performance, event attendance)
  • 15% Events & Outreach Support: Assist with logistics for virtual and in-person recruitment events (e.g. Live Chats, Recruitment booth/tabling)
  • 10% Administrative & Special Projects: Support documentation, file organization and process guides. Participate in professional development activities, team meetings and check-ins.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an Associate’s, Undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD program in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field or a recent graduate (within the past year)
  • Interest in marketing, communications, nonprofit work, or science policy
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a learning environment
  • Comfort working collaboratively and receiving feedback
Preferred
  • Coursework or experience related to digital marketing, analytics, or communications
  • Demonstrated portfolio of social media or creative work
  • Familiarity with social media platforms or email marketing tools
  • Interest in higher education, fellowships, public service, or science-related fields
