Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively within all levels of the organization and across departments to gather information, identify stories, support programs that cultivates a positive culture and team approach to fulfilling AWS’ mission.
  • Serve as AWS’ primary photographer and videographer, capturing, editing and publishing compelling photos and videos of adoptable pets, programs, services, events, staff, volunteers and community impact.
  • Continually build, maintain and enhance AWS’ organized library of photos, videos, graphics and other marketing assets.
  • Manage AWS’ social media presence, including developing, scheduling and publishing engaging content and monitoring audience engagement, platform updates and emerging trends.
  • Populate and maintain marketing team’s editorial calendar, ensuring balanced representation of AWS’ mission, programs, services and organizational priorities.
  • Collect, analyze and report on social media engagement, website performance, campaign results and other key performance indicators, using insights to recommend improvements.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of marketing plans, promotions and campaigns that increase visibility and maintain consistent branding and messaging for AWS’ target audiences.
  • Develop and produce written and visual digital content for AWS’ social media, website, e-newsletters, blogs and other marketing channels as needed.
  • Remain knowledgeable and in compliance with AWS Personnel Guidelines, applicable State and Federal laws and AWS policies, procedures and programs.
  • Support programs and activities of AWS as requested, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or digital media or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Must be proactive, detail oriented, analytical and organized, with creative mindset and ability to think outside the box.
  • Proven strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to adapt content for social media, websites, email, blogs and other marketing channels.
  • Proficient in use of digital photography/video equipment with demonstrated experience capturing and editing content for digital channels. Short- and long-form video editing experience a plus.
  • Experience developing and maintaining editorial or content calendars and coordinating multiple communications priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple social media channels, develop engaging content, build online communities and grow audience engagement.
  • Experience using digital analytics tools and marketing communications software to monitor performance, identify trends and report on key metrics.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across different functions of the Marketing Team and throughout the organization.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, platforms and skills as AWS’ marketing and communications needs evolve.
  • Proficient in use of Wordpress, SaaS platforms, social media platforms and MacOS
