Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own the end‑to‑end marketing strategy for assigned live titles (events, seasons, tentpoles), from audience definition and positioning through campaign architecture, phasing, and post‑launch learning.
  • Translate content, audience, and market insight into clear, differentiated positioning and strategic briefs that guide Live Title Creative and cross‑functional partners.
  • Define campaign objectives, narrative, and messaging hierarchy , and map channel strategy, beats, and moments across Netflix and partner ecosystems.
  • Drive upstream alignment with content, business affairs, product, partnerships, comms, social, and other stakeholders to ensure marketing is grounded in clear deal structures, UI plans, and partner operations.
  • Lead day‑to‑day cross‑functional orchestration for assigned titles, including convening and running taskforces, setting operating rhythms, and managing key milestones and decision points.
  • Partner and collaborate closely with Live Title Creative to ensure strategy and creative are tightly linked, jointly shaping campaign platforms and helping socialize work with senior leadership and external partners.
  • Design and manage socialization roadmaps for campaigns and creative, ensuring the right stakeholders are engaged at the right time, with clear narratives and decision asks.
  • Develop and maintain league and partner‑specific frameworks, templates, and playbooks (e.g., standard decks, league/partner archetypes, onboarding materials) that make future campaigns faster and more consistent.
  • Codify and disseminate post‑mortem learnings from each campaign, feeding them back into future strategies, playbooks, and cross‑functional ways of working.
  • Integrate sports‑specific expertise (league dynamics, fan behaviors, tentpole calendars, competitive landscape) into recommendations and guidance for internal partners.

Requirements

  • You have meaningful experience in sports and/or live entertainment marketing , with a track record of building and managing multi‑channel campaigns for live events, seasons, or tournaments.
  • You are a strategic thinker who can synthesize audience insight, partner dynamics, and business goals into clear, focused marketing strategies and roadmaps.
  • You’ve worked on live sports or entertainment campaigns in a 360 manner , partnering across AV, digital/social, product, comms, partnerships, and more — even if you weren’t hands‑on producing every asset.
  • You have strong sports and culture fluency and an instinct for what drives conversation and fandom, and can connect that to concrete marketing choices.
  • You are energized by complex cross‑functional orchestration and have experience aligning diverse stakeholders around a clear plan in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments.
  • You are drawn to systems and playbooks , not just one‑off heroics: you look for patterns, codify what works, and build reusable frameworks that make future work better and faster.
  • You are an excellent communicator and storyteller , able to organize, clarify, and present complex ideas succinctly to senior leaders, peers, and external partners.
  • You demonstrate strong judgment in ambiguity , can anticipate issues before they escalate, and are comfortable making informed recommendations with incomplete information.
  • You are highly collaborative and low‑ego , acting as a connector of information rather than a gatekeeper, and you operate with extreme selflessness and superior communication.
  • You are proactive, resourceful, and solution‑oriented , thriving with autonomy and ownership, and motivated by building something that can scale rather than maintaining the status quo.
