Job Summary

Own multi-channel storytelling and enterprise communications for Ford Racing by coordinating with Motorsports leadership, agencies, and cross‑functional partners to shape messaging, briefs, and content that expand reach beyond motorsports while tying to business priorities.

  • Expand media reach from motorsports into consumer and lifestyle outlets with strategic media relations and responsive messaging.
  • Collaborate with Campbell Communications and Ford Racing leads across Marketing, PD, Finance and leadership to develop narratives, briefs, and Q&A materials.
  • Leverage data and influencer engagement to inform content decisions and grow program impact.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the Communications team, working in close collaboration with the Ford Racing organization based in Dearborn, Michigan
  • Build the strategy and capability to deliver powerful storytelling and communications for Ford Racing’s motorsports, including a compelling narrative and message/content development for all of our racing activities
  • Create communications strategies that support Ford Racing’s core areas of focus, including off-road on track racing activities
  • Responsible for ongoing enterprise storytelling around Ford Racing motorsports activities
  • Develop key briefing materials to support Ford Racing programs and announcements including message development, remarks, talking points and Q&A development
  • Collaborate and manage Ford Racing’s agency partner for Motorsports, Campbell Communications; work closely with our Hypercar and F1 communications leads and partners
  • Partner and collaborate with Ford Racing’s Motorsports marketing managers on the development of strategies and programs to support Ford Racing motorsports programs, including stakeholders from across the enterprise including Marketing, PD, Finance, Purchasing and leadership
  • Partner and collaborate with the Enthusiast and Truck communications managers on efforts that span across race and retail vehicles
  • Expand Ford Racing’s media reach beyond traditional motorsports media to include consumer and lifestyle media; engage with and identify influences and advocates that will help build awareness of Ford Racing. Manage strategic media relations, ensuring consistent and responsive messaging
  • Use data to inform decision making – working with marketing, agencies and CGI teams to assist us in making data-based decisions

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • At least 5 – 7+ years of communications experience or equivalent experience
  • Extensive travel may be required including weekend travel (approximately 25-40%)

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject matter (Comms, Marketing, Business or equivalent education)
  • Have a focus on delivering to the strategy with a focus on storytelling that ladders up to our business priorities
  • Have a strong understanding of the media landscape – automotive, motorsports and consumer / lifestyle media with strong media relations background
  • Have a passion for motorsports and a desire to learn and develop in this area
  • Have a focus on excellence in materials creation (words, images and video)
  • Have an ability to always focus on the bigger picture of how what we do ladders up to the motorsport and broader company objectives – be results driven.
  • Have a focus on all key stakeholders including internal (leadership, employees, dealers) and external (traditional media, social media, influencers etc.)
  • Possess excellent abilities in key office tools such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel
