Job Summary

Build a rigorous evaluation workflow that compares legal-writing outputs across multiple LLMs, focusing on precision, structure, and voice, while extracting context from source documents to preserve meaning.

  • Legal Evaluation: Create rubrics and run side-by-side comparisons of model responses against quality criteria.
  • Prompt Engineering: Develop realistic prompts and instructions for liability waivers, motions, affidavits, and contract clauses.
  • Context Extraction: Pull relevant content from sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency in language.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Develop prompt-specific rubrics for evaluating legal writing quality
  • Write realistic legal prompts and system instructions for use cases such as liability waivers, court motions, affidavits, and contract clauses
  • Evaluate and rank responses from multiple large language models based on legal precision, structure, and clarity
  • Provide clear, written justifications for each model comparison
  • Extract relevant context from source documents while preserving original meaning and voice
  • Review materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and natural legal language
Requirements
  • JD, LLM, or equivalent legal degree from an accredited institution (strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in legal or related practice
  • Excellent written English
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to break down complex legal writing into clear quality dimensions
  • Comfortable working with digital tools, content platforms, and structured formats such as JSON
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (work authorization)
  • This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity (constraint)
Preferred
  • Practicing attorneys across litigation, appellate, corporate, compliance, or regulatory practice
  • Legal writers, editors, and researchers
  • Professionals with experience in legal content evaluation or prompt engineering
