Job Summary

Own a hybrid PR and social support role focused on travel and hospitality clients, turning trend research, media lists, and content creation into real time coverage and client updates.

  • Public Relations: assist with research, reporting, press materials, and real time coverage tracking
  • Social Media: support influencer research, content creation, and media relations for assigned clients

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist in research on upcoming trends, articles & social media relating to the PR industry & clients
  • Assist with reporting & gathering information to develop efficient pitches
  • Assist with writing press materials (for example: fact sheets, media lists, press releases, newsletters, bios/backgrounders)
  • Assist in brainstorming & planning sessions/story angles and partnerships
  • Assist with clipping for real-time coverage reports
  • Assist with data input for weekly reporting/client updates
  • Learn and demonstrate basic understanding of Barcelona Principles scoring with oversight from team members
  • Learn and navigate Muck Rack for development of quality media lists
  • Social Media - Assist in research on upcoming trends, articles, and social media relating to the travel/hospitality industry & social media clients
  • Learn and gain a basic understanding of Tagger (Sprout Social) for influencer analysis

Requirements

  • Must enroll in a college/university course to receive academic credit for the internship
  • Upperclassman (junior or senior) standing
  • Must be able to commute into the office you apply to for the duration of the internship
  • Attend a week-long training program at the start of the internship (September 13th, 10 am - 1 pm PT / 1 pm - 5 pm ET)
  • Commit to a regular, weekly schedule (16 hours/week)
  • Interns propose their own schedules
  • In-office any hours Monday-Thursday
  • Remote on Fridays
  • Proficiency in computer programs, including: Word, PowerPoint and Excel in a Mac OS environment; Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently in a hybrid environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Experience with AP writing style
  • Social media knowledge
  • Presentation skills

Preferred

  • Previous intern experience is preferred but not required
