Job Summary

Own the global HIV strategy and portfolio prioritization, aligning R&D and commercial to shape development, positioning, and access across markets.

  • Global Strategy & Launch: Define product profiles, value propositions, pricing assumptions, and launch readiness across regions.
  • Cross-Functional Ownership: Lead pan-regional teams from Commercial, R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory and Government Affairs to drive portfolio decisions and lifecycle plans.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Portfolio & Strategy Leadership: Partner with the R&D Therapeutic Area Head to define and evolve a long-term global HIV strategy, positioning Gilead as a leader in innovative therapies
  • Identify unmet medical needs and future market opportunities using market research, analytics, and competitive intelligence
  • Evaluate and prioritize internal pipeline and external partnership / acquisition opportunities
  • Development-to-Commercial Integration: Serve as the commercial voice on cross-functional development teams, shaping clinical strategy, target indications, and product profiles
  • Ensure development plans align with differentiated value propositions and market needs
  • Influence regulatory and medical strategies to support successful product positioning and access
  • Global Product Strategy & Launch Excellence: Lead development of product profiles, positioning, branding, and messaging during clinical development
  • Define global value propositions supported by economic and outcomes data to enable pricing and reimbursement success
  • Drive launch readiness through publication strategy, naming, and competitive positioning
  • Global Commercial Execution & Lifecycle Management: Own global commercial plans post-approval, including positioning, branding, and market access strategy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 16+ years of relevant experience, OR
  • Master’s degree and 14+ years of relevant experience, OR
  • PhD and 14+ years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree (MBA, PhD, PharmD, or MD)
  • Significant experience in global pharmaceutical marketing and strategy
  • Proven expertise in HIV therapeutic area marketing
  • Strong track record in new product planning, portfolio strategy, and lifecycle management
  • Experience leveraging market research and forecasting to drive strategic decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex global, matrixed teams
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders across R&D and commercial organizations
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to design and execute multi-dimensional commercial strategies at global scale
