Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Running a communications and community relations team (hiring, developing, evaluating)
  • Serving as the go-to spokesperson for media and community stakeholders
  • Planning and executing marketing campaigns tied to enrollment, reputation, and community trust
  • Overseeing content production: video, print, digital, social
  • Tracking what's working through analytics and adjusting accordingly
  • Building relationships with local businesses, civic groups, and community organizations
  • Managing the department budget
  • Advising district leadership on communications decisions, including sensitive or time-critical ones
  • Coordinating staff and student recognition programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, communications, public administration, education administration, or something related
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • 3+ years in communications or public relations (preferred)
  • You write well, and you edit well. You can manage several competing priorities without losing the thread.
  • Experience with video production, digital marketing, and analytics
  • Comfort working in public education, or at least a real interest in it
