Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive, integrated marketing and communications plan that aligns with organizational goals for fundraising, program recruitment, and community building.
  • Bring creative leadership and fresh ideas to how we reach and engage our audiences.
  • Manage the marketing lifecycle for signature events and programs, ensuring high visibility and successful registration/attendance.
  • Act as the lead writer for the organization, drafting compelling blogs and impact stories that capture the voices of our participants and alumni.
  • Ensure all communications across every channel remain consistent with No Barriers’ established brand standards and mission-driven tone.
  • Oversee and execute the strategy for all social media channels, focusing on community growth and meaningful engagement.
  • Manage the email marketing ecosystem, including newsletters, donor journeys, and program-related announcements.
  • Serve as the primary manager of the No Barriers website, ensuring updates are timely, SEO-optimized, and accessible.
  • Produce high-quality, professional visual assets using tools like Canva, adhering to our brand guidelines to ensure a cohesive look across all digital and print materials.
  • While this role has no full-time direct reports, the Director has the option to recruit and manage one part-time paid intern (approx. 10 hours/week) to support specific pillars such as design or social media.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing and communications, with a proven track record working in an integrated marcomm environment for an organization with a small staff.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in WordPress/Elementor (or similar CMS), Canva, social media platforms, and email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Bloomerang or similar).
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an aptitude for interviewing participants and translating their experiences into moving narratives.
  • Strategic Mindset: Experience taking an established brand and finding innovative ways to amplify its reach and impact.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to establish strong working partnerships with development and program area leads
  • Mission Alignment: Personal commitment or connection to No Barriers’ mission; dedication to creating spaces that are welcoming and inclusive
