Job Summary

Own the marketing science backbone for Devices and Services by building causal, AI-driven analytics from day one that tie downstream value to Prime, retention, and ecosystem signals.

  • Cross-PL attribution and value attribution frameworks that connect devices to Prime acquisition, retention, and ecosystem engagement
  • Build and govern a causal research program and AI-enabled analytics function with strong experimentation standards
  • Define measurement standards, identification strategies, and an end-to-end estimation workflow for marketing spend and ROI

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Downstream value attribution for all Devices product lines β€” Impact on Prime, subscription lift, consumer spending, advertising value
  • Alexa+ value isolation and cross-PL attribution
  • Causal frameworks connecting device sales to Prime acquisition, subscription retention, and ecosystem engagement
  • Build the marketing science function from scratch
  • Incrementality measurement for marketing spend across all channels
  • Attribution methodology, measurement standards, and cross-pod governance
  • Marketing ROI frameworks for use by category marketers
  • CCM certification methodology and scenario planning models for optimal investment allocation
  • Owning the estimation methodology, identification strategies, data inputs/outputs, and refresh cadence
  • You will build this team's analytics function with AI at its core from day one

Requirements

  • 12+ years in economics, econometrics, or causal inference research with increasing leadership scope
  • Track record designing and executing causal research programs β€” including randomized experiments, quasi-experimental methods, and structural estimation
  • Deep expertise in applied microeconomics, causal inference, incrementality estimation, or structural econometrics
  • Experience managing teams of 30+ across economics, applied science, and quantitative research disciplines
  • PhD in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field

Preferred

  • Experience in consumer electronics, devices, or subscription businesses with complex downstream value chains
  • Familiarity with Pro Forma P&L construction and Finance partnership at VP+ level
  • Background in both structural long-run economic modeling AND reduced-form in-period estimation
  • Experience designing experimentation governance for multi-team organizations
  • Comfort operating at the intersection of economic theory, empirical research, and business strategy
  • Track record of influencing senior leadership (VP/SVP) with data-driven narratives
  • Published research or recognized expertise in applied microeconomics, industrial organization, or platform economics
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex econometric findings into clear executive narratives that drive investment decisions

Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. USA, WA, Seattle - 250,000.00 - 338,200.00 USD annually
