  • Own and evolve content strategy
  • Lead video production and creative development
  • Oversee social channels and analytics

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve The Music Center's content and social strategy, setting the creative and platform vision across the institutional brand and TMC Arts programming and aligning that vision with broader marketing and organizational goals.
  • Lead end-to-end video production — concepting, scripting, shooting, directing and editing short-form and long-form video — for use in paid advertising campaigns as well as organic social and digital content.
  • Set and continually refine platform and audience growth strategies across channels (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and others), determining where and how content should live, adapting formats to each platform's best practices and staying ahead of emerging trends and features.
  • Serve as a channel owner for all social media accounts, overseeing daily content creation, curation, publishing and community engagement, including monitoring and escalation of issues as needed.
  • Direct and produce photography, videography and real-time social storytelling at Music Center performances, events and productions, capturing and publishing compelling content that extends the audience experience beyond The Music Center campus.
  • With support from Marketing Department team members, build and manage integrated content calendars that connect program- and event-specific campaigns to The Music Center's broader marketing strategy.
  • Partner with Marketing Department team members on paid social media strategy, identifying opportunities to leverage high-performing organic content, platform insights and audience behavior to inform paid campaigns and creative development.
  • Analyze content and channel performance, using analytics and audience insights to inform strategy, and deliver regular reporting and recommendations to senior leadership on content performance, growth and return on investment.
  • As needed, identify, build and manage relationships with freelance videographers and other content creators that support content production.
  • Manage the content and social budget for certain projects, as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in social media, content strategy and digital storytelling, including experience leading strategy at an organizational or brand level; experience with arts organizations, museums or other comparable cultural institutions highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience setting and executing content and platform strategy that ties directly to organizational and marketing goals, not just day-to-day channel management.
  • Expert-level video production skills and the ability to lead productions from concept to delivery, including concepting, scripting, shooting, directing and editing; proficiency with professional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or comparable platforms required.
  • Experience developing content for paid digital and social advertising, with an understanding of how creative strategy, formats and best practices differ across paid and organic channels.
  • Expert-level photography skills and experience with real-time event coverage using DSLR and mobile equipment; experience creating social and marketing graphics using design software (Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Canva).
  • Must understand social and digital analytics, with demonstrable experience using social media management and analytics platforms to measure impact and shape strategy.
  • Expert-level writing and editing skills, with experience crafting platform-appropriate, audience- focused content optimized for digital discovery and engagement.
  • Experience managing budgets and vendors, with strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and influence—including guiding staff in other departments—and to communicate ideas and recommendations effectively with senior leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree required, with a focus on communications, media, film/video production, marketing, advertising, graphic design, photography or a related field preferred.

Preferred

  • experience with arts organizations, museums or other comparable cultural institutions highly desirable.
