Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Communications strategy (40%) Set the direction and guide the vision for ACHP communications initiatives in the short- and long-term. in support of the organization’s mission, programs and policy priorities.
  • Part­ner with Federal Affairs leadership to translate policy goals into compelling communications and advocacy strategies.
  • Serve as a strategic communications adviser to the senior leadership team, providing counsel on messaging, positioning, executive visibility and reputational considerations.
  • Identify meaningful opportunities to position ACHP and its members as the champion of a unique model of coverage and care.
  • Develop and direct comprehensive, goal-driven communications campaigns that strengthen ACHP’s brand, highlight member companies and increase the visibility of ACHP’s priorities.
  • Department leadership (20%) Oversee a high-performing Communications team, including consultants, agencies and related project budgets.
  • Lead, develop and empower departmental staff by planning, recruiting, communicating job expectations, coaching and training.
  • Collaborate with other departments on publications, collateral and member communications such as newsletters, testimonials and multimedia.
  • Establish performance metrics and evaluate the effectiveness of communications initiatives, including earned media reach, message penetration, digital engagement, stakeholder response and progress to maximize impact
  • Use performance results and analytics to refine communications strategies and maximize impact.
  • Implementation (20%) Direct creation and distribution of high-quality print and digital materials that reflect ACHP’s mission and goals, including press releases, promotional pieces, speeches, op-eds, blog posts, infographics, web copy, videos, etc.
  • Develop and direct thought leadership platforms and earned media that showcase ACHP executives and member leaders.
  • Cultivate new and deepen existing relationships with the press, conference organizers, researchers and other stakeholders to expand the reach of ACHP’s messages.
  • Serve as the in-house “protector” of crisp, clear writing and company-wide adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Member engagement (10%) Oversee in-person and virtual activities for communications professionals and others within ACHP member companies.
  • Responsible for producing the ACHP Annual Symposium, a signature convening event featuring external experts and member company executives.— Note: typographical dash kept as-is is not ideal; kept as line as per wording, but will be treated as a line in original form?
