Job Summary

Own and drive Concordia University Chicago's social media effort, coordinating content creation, engagement, and analytics across campus partners.

  • Collaborate with Video Production and campus offices to maintain branding, accessibility, and consistent standards.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes CUC's social media strategy, enhancing institutional visibility, reputation, and alignment with brand and Lutheran identity.
  • Plans and manages the social content calendar; produces and publishes platform-optimized graphics, photos, and short-form video.
  • Captures still photography and short-form, social-first video on campus and at events, providing real-time social coverage for high-priority events.
  • Writes accurate, on-brand captions; ensures accessibility (alt text, captions) and compliance (FERPA/copyright/UGC consent).
  • Monitors channels through social listening; engages/responds appropriately and routes inquiries as needed.
  • Tracks trends and surfaces relevant insights to internal teams; analyzes performance and delivers regular reports that inform strategy.
  • Collaborates across campus offices to reflect the full University experience.
  • Partners with the Director of Video Production Services to maintain consistent multimedia standards and support non-social video projects as needed.
  • Governs University‑affiliated accounts: audits, recommends maintain/improve/discontinue actions, vets new requests, and guides secondary account managers on policies and best practices.
  • Coordinates timely dissemination of news, announcements, and crisis/emergency communications when applicable.

Requirements

  • Five (5+) years of relevant experience in digital content creation, social media management, or multimedia storytelling; prior management of social media accounts for a business or organization. Previous experience in higher education a plus (not required).
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, photography, film production, graphic design, or related discipline is required

  • Previous experience in higher education a plus (not required).
