Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day social media content creation, scheduling, and publishing across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and more.
  • Develop and execute content calendars under the direction of the Marketing & Community Engagement Manager.
  • Produce engaging posts, stories, reels, and short-form videos that tell compelling stories, capture community impact, and highlight programs and events - including live coverage when needed.
  • Capture and edit photography and video for digital use.
  • Support email newsletters and marketing materials with creative content and visuals.
  • Maintain websites, digital listings, and Google Business Profiles to ensure accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Track and analyze digital engagement metrics to identify trends, improve reach, and enhance community interaction
  • Collaborate across departments to gather stories and program details that reflect The Salvation Army/Kroc Center's impact.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand standards, messaging, and voice while remaining fresh and innovative.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, or a related field.
  • Nonprofit or community-based experience preferred
  • Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools, preferably Meta Business Suite
  • Skills: Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite; basic video editing skills required. Portfolio of relevant digital content (social media, design, photography, and/or video) required for consideration prior to interview.
  • Strong written communication, storytelling, and creative thinking skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and calendars independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Passion for advancing The Salvation Army's mission and sharing its story.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid driver's license, insured transportation, and ability to pass MVR and background checks.
  • Work primarily in office settings; occasional exposure to varying environmental conditions.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
