Own the tonal consistency and storytelling across CPRs donor, fund-raising and marketing content to drive donor engagement and fundraising outcomes.

  • Translate complex ideas into clear, accessible copy that supports fundraising goals and brand trust.
  • Collaborate with programs, development, and communications teams to align messaging with strategy and donor expectations.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own voice, tone, and storytelling across fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, marketing initiatives, and organizational communications.
  • Ensure consistency in voice and messaging across all channels and audiences.
  • Support fundraising goals and strengthen donor relationships while stewarding CPR’s brand as Colorado’s trusted source for fact-based news and cultural connection.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a copywriter, content writer, or in a related communications role.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for diverse audiences and channels.
  • Familiarity with AP Style.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear and accessible language.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit, media, or fundraising content and understanding of donor-centered communications.

Preferred

  • Experience with customer relationship management systems (CRMs) and digital/email marketing platforms is preferred.
  • Education Equivalency: a relatable bachelor’s or master’s degree may replace some experience, but is not required.
