Job Description

Own communications and outreach for a statewide prevention coalition, shaping messaging, media relations, and content across multiple platforms.

  • Develop, write, and edit Coalition publications, including annual reports, newsletters, brochures, curricula, and toolkits.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, and editorials for Coalition initiatives and events.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop messaging and coordinate media engagement.
  • Maintain consistent messaging across platforms, including external profiles and partner communications.
  • Draft alerts, announcements, and calls to action to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Coordinate with external partners to enhance visibility and outreach efforts.
  • Manage and grow the Coalition’s social media presence and digital campaigns.
  • Regularly review and update website content for accuracy and accessibility across initiatives like PrevenTN.
  • Design materials using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
  • Develop multimedia content including graphics and short videos for campaigns.
  • 3–5+ years of professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, outreach, or related work.
  • Experience with nonprofit or coalition-based public health initiatives and multi-platform strategies.
  • Proficiency with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with WordPress or similar CMS.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed and survivor-centered communication practices; experience in victim services or prevention work preferred.
  • Must-have: 3–5+ years in communications, marketing, or PR.
  • Standout: Trauma-informed messaging experience and proficiency with Canva/Adobe.
