Job Summary

Own SMAA's digital storytelling pipeline by shaping social content, updating the website, and producing ministry-focused media while elevating newsletters and analytics to boost engagement with families and mid-life adults.

  • Social & Video Content: plan and execute posts and reels that connect church life with ELC activities.
  • Content Capture & Voice: photograph/videograph worship and events, craft captions, and maintain a consistent SMAA voice.
  • Strategy & Audience Insights: monitor engagement trends and refine content strategy for parents of preschoolers and adults 40–65.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management: Develop 3–5 social media posts each week. Produce at least 1 social media Reel each week for Facebook and Instagram, focusing on timely, relevant content that bridges church life and ELC activities.
  • Website & Digital Content: Manage and update the website (smaacola.org) to ensure dynamic content remains fresh and dovetails seamlessly with our mission, ministry, and static content.
  • Content Creation: Capture content from worship, events, ministries, and church life. Perform basic photography, videography, and editing. Write captions and messaging that reflect SMAA’s voice, mission, and values (Preach. Teach. Heal. Make Disciples. / Love Grows Here).
  • Communications Improvement: Redesign and elevate the weekly Guardian newsletter and other internal communication documents to ensure they are visually clean, engaging, and mobile-friendly.
  • Strategy & Analytics: Track engagement, reach, and content performance trends. Identify opportunities to strengthen digital engagement and content strategy specifically targeting parents of preschool-aged children and adults ages 40–65.
