Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist with drafting and editing content for the City's website, social media, newsletters, press releases, and other public-facing materials.
  • Identifies content requirements and suggests content strategies and deliverables as part of robust communications plans.
  • Develops, manages, and posts content for the social media, website, and other platforms; maintains a consistent writing style, voice and branding across platforms.
  • Designs and maintains communication materials, including digital content, brochures, promotional materials, and publications using a variety of media.
  • Monitor City website for maintenance, routinely checks web traffic analytic and trains other member of staff on website
  • Create, edits, & contributes to a city photo library.
  • Assist with script writing & video production.
  • Performs other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Open to high school seniors, college students (all levels), recent graduates, and individuals pursuing non-traditional educational paths. Formal course working communications, public administration, journalism, marketing, political science, or are related field is helpful but not required. Equivalent experience, demonstrate interest, or a strong portfolio of work will also be considered.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with generative artificial intelligence.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License with clean driving record Driving is a requirement for this position
