Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and execution for:
  • Global social media channels (regional markets manage local channels)
  • Global website and digital content (regional markets manage local sites)
  • Global PR and media engagement (regional markets lead local PR)
  • Communications and events tied to major organizational moments
  • Function as spokesperson and media liaison for Tier 1 global outlets.
  • Partner with regional Executive Directors and market teams to develop cross-market campaigns and communications plans
  • Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and brand across global communications channels
  • Coordinate closely with regional communications leads to share best practices and align on priorities
  • Internal Communications (30%)

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in communications, public relations, digital media, or related fields (in-house or with agencies)
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated success managing and developing teams
  • Expertise in or with policy, advocacy, or international development organizations
  • Proven ability to navigate and influence within complex, global matrixed organizations
  • Strong writing, messaging, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and team/agency performance

  • Fluency in English required. Fluency in other languages such as French and German is a plus.
  • Travel up to 10% international and/or domestic.
  • Work is hybrid in Washington DC with the expectation of being in the office two to three days per week.
