Job Summary

Own the storytelling lifecycle from sourcing and interviewing to crafting pitches and publishing content, coordinating with BYU Ballard Center stakeholders across multiple channels.

  • Lead storytelling from interviews to external publishing
  • Coordinate content across website, press materials, and partner partners

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Identify and collect impactful stories from students, alumni, faculty, and collaborator organizations
  • Conduct interviews and additional research to develop engaging narratives
  • Craft story pitches and press releases
  • Develop content for website articles and potential external publishing entities
  • Maintain clean and precise organization across all aspects of work

Requirements

  • Excellent written communication and editing skills
  • Ability to transform complex information into clear, engaging stories for media, stakeholders, and public audiences
  • Adept proficiency in crafting compelling story pitches
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with BYU faculty and other team members
  • Ability to navigate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines
  • Passion for social impact and the mission of the Ballard Center

Preferred

  • Experience in PR, journalism, communications, or marketing is preferred
