Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Owns client relationships and serves as the day-to-day lead across multiple small accounts or large workstreams.
  • Manages timelines and deliverables for multiple clients with minimal oversight, proactively addresses issues, and builds trusted client partnerships.
  • Content Creation: Leads the development of high-impact communication materials, including message frameworks, strategy memos, presentations, press releases, talking points, op-eds, and speeches.
  • Media Engagement: Strategically uses media tools and networks to shape storylines, provide counsel, and identify high-value opportunities.
  • Strategic Messenger: Strategically anticipates evolving storylines and oversees the implementation of multiple narratives, targeting different stakeholders at the same time.
  • Effectively leads cross-functional collaboration across communications, data, creative, and paid media teams to deliver cohesive, high-impact work.
  • Leads productive internal and external meetings and tailors messaging to the audience.
  • Provides strategic guidance to junior staff, delivering clear, actionable feedback that sharpens thinking and strengthens execution.
  • Drives projects efficiently and independently, managing small teams and overseeing multiple initiatives from start to finish.
  • Crafts clear work plans and delegates effectively.
  • Drafts and oversees development of clear, strategic, and persuasive content across projects.
  • Leverages tools and sources to generate insights that shape strategy and drive long-term goals.
  • Anticipates gaps or misalignments before they arise, guiding teams to course-correct and align with strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years working in a communications role in an in-house, government, consultancy environment.
  • Experience managing strategic communications programs and sensitive communications issues.
  • Wide-ranging relationships with the media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative and energetic approach to solving client issues.
  • Experience working with multiple clients at the same time.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Creativity, energy, detail-orientation, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
