Job Summary

Own a teaching portfolio across undergraduate English offerings with potential literature and MFA contributions, while driving course development, scholarship, and service in a student-centered program.

  • Course leadership: design and deliver undergraduate fiction workshops and composition, with possible literature/MFA duties.
  • Academic service and development: participate in course and program development and provide service to the department.
  • Scholarly activity and collaboration: maintain an active pace of scholarly, creative, and professional work and collaborate with students and colleagues.

Job Description

  • The candidate will teach undergraduate courses in an English program including fiction workshops and composition; opportunities to teach literature and contribute to the MFA program may also arise.
  • The candidate will hold regular office hours and provide student-centered instruction and support for undergraduate writers.
  • Participate in course and program development.
  • Maintain an active agenda of scholarly, creative, and/or professional activity.
  • Perform appropriate college and professional service.
  • Work cooperatively with students, faculty, and staff.
