Job Summary

Own admissions and census growth by aligning referrals, inquiries, and bed management to hit census targets while delivering consistent service to residents and families.

  • Admissions and bed management: lead the end-to-end intake, room readiness, and rate of occupancy decisions.
  • Referral pipeline: build a steady flow of hospital discharge and community referrals through external outreach and relationship management.
  • Service and follow-through: maintain high customer satisfaction through proactive communication and staff training on service standards.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Build census/quality mix by informing prospective residents and/or responsible parties with information and guidance for selecting a skilled nursing facility.
  • Engage in revenue-generating activities: census/mix management, inquiry management, external sales calls, lead-base calls to build long-term custodial census, and community education.
  • Lead in stand-up meetings with the CEO and department heads to resolve admission issues, including ongoing discussions with the CNO about clinical service issues.
  • Conduct routine physical environment rounds with the CEO and select department heads to evaluate and resolve facility presentation issues.
  • Conduct tours for prospective customers interested in the facility’s skilled nursing care services.
  • Ensure room readiness for new residents.
  • Work with the Social Worker to ensure internal conversions from short-term rehab to long-term care when appropriate; alert staff of projected room changes at the daily stand-up.
  • Lead the bed management process; collaborate with the CNO and BOM to ensure appropriate and efficient admission decisions and communicate room/bed selections to relevant parties.
  • Model exemplary customer service; communicate customer expectations and satisfaction results; train staff and develop improvement plans with center leadership and QAPI as needed.
  • Manage inquiry process and follow-ups; maintain updated bed availability; train backups to handle inquiries when out of facility; manage occupancy to meet budget expectations.
