Sitting down with CEO, Steve Cohn, storytelling can be extremely fun, very detailed and authentically raw. He knew he wanted to be in sales, be his own boss but at the onset, wasn’t 100% sure of what that looked like. After trying a few avenues, he wound up selling barrettes out of the trunk of his car. Going from salon to salon, was the most invaluable experience he could ask for and he was excited to be a part of a thriving industry that has so much to offer. Armed with new verbiage like backbar, balayage, and butterfly clips, Steve was on a mission; he needed to find a brand to break into the industry and make an impact. Insert TIGI (present day Bed Head) and a sort of world-win partnership formed and the rest seems like history. 35+ Brands later, a 55,000 square foot distribution center that covers Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, second generation in tow, and close to 100 employees, it’s an awe-inspiring journey to be a part of.
