Job Summary

Own social growth and monetization for Newsweek’s global newsroom by shaping platform-specific strategies, leading video and campaigns, and aligning with editorial and product teams to drive engagement and revenue.

  • Grow social referrals, engagement, and monetization across consumer platforms through platform-specific strategies.
  • Lead video strategy across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms, partnering with video and multimedia teams to optimize reach.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on newsroom efficiency, digital visibility, and audience growth while applying lessons from testing.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement platform - specific   strategie s to grow social referrals, engagement, and monetization across consumer social platforms.
  • Lead   social   video   strategy  and growth   across   Facebook,   Instagram,   TikTok,   and   emerging platforms.  Partner with video and multimedia teams to ensure success.
  • Own and execute  social campaigns to promote Newsweek original series ,  subscriptions,   new  products  and  offerings .
  • Partner with Editorial, Audience , and  Product  teams  to  execute  cross-functional projects  aimed at improving newsroom efficiency,  digital visibility , and user engagement.
  • Track and report on social   media performance , proactively   identifying  opportunities to improve engagement and  platform  referrals.
  • Develop and  participate  in A/B testing initiatives and help implement learnings into future posts  and  social media  strategies.
  • Support  and grow   community   engagement   and   content   amplification.
  • Collaborate   with   the   video/multimedia   team   and   VP   of   Growth   Markets   on monetization strategies and new revenue growth.
  • Promote   YouTube   content   on   other   social   media   platforms   and   support   influencer -led audience growth in line with newsroom strategy.
  • Manage  social team  direct  reports , including  responsibility for performance management, coaching  / development, workload prioritization, and day-to-day oversight.
  • Any   other   reasonable   duties   to   meet   the   needs   of   the   business.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of successfully managing social media platforms, developing consumer engagement strategies and monetization for a global newsroom.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of representing the brand in a professional manner across all channels.
  • Demonstrable expertise in analyzing social media metrics and reporting on campaign effectiveness to inform future activity.
  • Familiarity with relevant UK data protection and advertising regulations, ensuring all content is compliant and ethically produced.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering creativity and collaboration to drive innovative social campaigns.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.
