Job Description
Position Summary:
The Student Digital Media & Marketing Assistant supports the Strategic Communication and Marketing team in promoting university life through engaging digital content. This role provides hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and digital design while contributing to the university’s overall marketing and communication strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and design graphics, videos, and multimedia content for university social media platforms
- Assist in managing and scheduling posts across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
- Develop engaging content including Instagram stories, reels, and short-form videos
- Edit photos and videos using industry-standard tools
- Conduct interviews with students, faculty, and staff for use in digital storytelling
- Write and edit captions for social media posts and university publications
- Research current social media trends and assist in developing creative campaign ideas
- Collaborate with team members to conceptualize and execute digital marketing initiatives
- Monitor audience engagement and respond to trends or requests as appropriate
Required Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate student, preferably in Marketing, Communication, or a related field
- Strong interest in social media, digital marketing, and content creation
- Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Creativity, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar tools
- Familiarity with social media scheduling platforms (e.g., Later.com)
- Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, or similar platforms
- Understanding of social media analytics and trend research
