Job Description

Company Description

Caribico is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit uniting the Caribbean and its diaspora through youth leadership, education, and action. We operate a global network of university and regional youth chapters, each building structured programming that advances Caribbean development through leadership, cultural exchange, and community impact. Connected through regional cohorts, dedicated Unit Directors, and a weekly Presidential Council, Caribico is a coordinated international initiative with professional standards and a mission rooted in Caribbean unity, resilience, and progress.

Role Description

The Web Content Writer will research, write, and publish original editorial content to caribico.org covering Caribbean governance, development, culture, and diaspora affairs. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring regional news and CARICOM developments for timely story angles, maintaining a running editorial pipeline, publishing finished articles via Wix, and coordinating with Caribico's social media team so content can be repurposed across platforms. This is a part-time remote position with a minimum cadence of two articles per week, offering editorial independence within Caribico's mission.

Please note: This is an unpaid experience focused opportunity.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing ability with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and professional tone
  • Genuine interest in the Caribbean — by heritage, academic focus, or personal alliance
  • Self-directed and deadline-reliable — capable of sourcing topics, conducting research, and publishing independently
  • Familiarity with basic CMS publishing (Wix or similar) is a plus; training provided if needed
  • Prior writing experience (campus newspaper, blog, coursework, or personal publication) preferred but not required — your writing sample will speak for itself
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing publication-ready work
