Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes the organization's integrated marketing, communications, public relations, social media, content strategy, driving brand visibility, engagement, and mission impact across all channels.
  • Champions and protects Baby2Baby's brand by ensuring excellence and consistency across visual identity, messaging, storytelling, and communications. Serves as chief editor and brand steward, elevating high-impact communications and evolving the organization's voice and positioning.
  • Maintains direct ownership of Baby2Baby's highest-profile communications, personally reviewing, editing, and refining key messaging, fundraising materials, annual reports, board communications, executive correspondence, media responses, and other mission-critical content to ensure clarity, consistency, and excellence.
  • Partners with the Co-CEOs to develop, write, edit, and refine executive speeches, messaging, media materials, donor communications, and other strategic communications.
  • Leads Baby2Baby's social media strategy and digital storytelling across all platforms, driving audience growth, engagement, brand awareness, and fundraising while ensuring content reflects the organization's voice, mission, and strategic priorities. Partners closely with the team on editorial planning, creative development, and content creation, providing hands-on guidance and editorial oversight to ensure exceptional quality and consistency across every platform.
  • Oversees communications strategy and program development (scripting, content and visuals) for the annual Baby2Baby Gala ensuring a cohesive and compelling experience that advances Baby2Baby's mission and fundraising goals.
  • Partners closely with senior leaders across Development, Corporate Partnerships, Programs, Events, and Community Engagement to develop integrated campaigns and high-value partnerships.
  • Builds, mentors, and inspires a high-performing marketing and communications team, fostering innovation, accountability, and professional growth while positioning Baby2Baby as a best-in-class nonprofit brand.
  • Serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, cultivating and strengthening relationships with key external stakeholders, including corporate executives, philanthropic partners, major donors, media, public officials, celebrities, influencers, and community leaders.
  • Fosters a collaborative, high-performing culture by building strong cross-functional partnerships that align communications, fundraising, and organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience spanning marketing, communications, public relations, and brand management, including executive-level experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading integrated marketing and communications strategies for a nationally recognized brand or organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and perform effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with competing priorities and high-visibility communications.
  • Experience serving as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on reputation management, executive communications, crisis communications, and organizational messaging.
  • Exceptional executive communications and storytelling skills, with demonstrated experience developing messaging for CEOs, boards, media, and other high-profile stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional relationship-building skills and experience engaging high-profile stakeholders including donors, corporate leaders, media, talent, and partners.
  • Experience managing agency relationships, departmental budgets, and complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
