Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator

Time Commitment: Approximately 15-20 hours per week, flexible

Position Purpose

The Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator will support Renewal Oasis in developing and implementing fundraising activities that generate financial resources for the organization’s transitional living program for women experiencing housing instability.

This person will help identify fundraising opportunities, cultivate donors and sponsors, coordinate campaigns and events, and assist with donor stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising

• Assist with planning and implementing fundraising campaigns.
• Help identify individuals, businesses, churches, foundations, and community organizations that may support Renewal Oasis.
• Research potential donors and sponsors.
• Assist with sponsorship packages and fundraising proposals.
• Help secure donations, auction items, gift cards, and in-kind contributions.
• Support online fundraising campaigns through platforms such as Givebutter.
• Assist with fundraising goals for the transitional home and ongoing program operations.

Community Outreach

• Represent Renewal Oasis professionally at community events and meetings.
• Develop relationships with local businesses, churches, civic organizations, and community partners.
• Contact potential sponsors and donors by phone, email, or in person.
• Help communicate the mission and impact of Renewal Oasis to potential supporters.

Fundraising Events

• Assist with planning and coordinating fundraising events.
• Recruit volunteers for fundraising activities.
• Help obtain event sponsors and donated items.
• Assist with silent auctions, raffles, donation drives, and other approved fundraising activities.
• Help with event setup, registration, donor recognition, and follow-up.

Donor Stewardship

• Help maintain accurate donor and sponsor information.
• Assist with thank-you letters, emails, certificates, and recognition.
• Help track donations and sponsorship commitments.
• Support ongoing communication with donors and community supporters.

Marketing Support

• Work with the Renewal Oasis marketing team to promote fundraising campaigns.
• Help create fundraising posts for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other approved platforms.
• Share the organization's mission and fundraising opportunities within the community.
• Assist with distributing flyers, QR codes, and other fundraising materials.

Qualifications

• Passion for the mission of Renewal Oasis and helping women experiencing housing instability.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable speaking with businesses, donors, churches, and community organizations.
• Organized and dependable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a volunteer team.
• Professional and compassionate demeanor.
• Fundraising, nonprofit, sales, marketing, event planning, or community outreach experience is helpful but not required.

Important Volunteer Expectations

Volunteers representing Renewal Oasis are expected to:

• Maintain confidentiality.
• Represent the organization professionally.
• Follow approved fundraising procedures.
• Use only organization-approved messaging and materials.
• Accurately represent Renewal Oasis and its programs.
• Obtain board/leadership approval before making commitments on behalf of the organization.
• Not independently enter into contracts or financial agreements on behalf of Renewal Oasis.

Success Measures

The volunteer's success may be measured by:

• Number of new donor and sponsor relationships developed.
• Fundraising opportunities identified.
• Sponsorships and donations secured.
• Fundraising events supported.
• Community partnerships developed.
• Donor follow-up and stewardship completed.
• Contribution toward Renewal Oasis fundraising goals.

Expected hours: No more than 20.0 per week
