The Role

The Mason Contractors Association of America is building the MASONRY STRONG Network, a video-first multimedia platform and a slate of roughly a dozen original streaming shows serving every segment of the $41 billion masonry industry. We are looking for a Video Production Coordinator to be a support engine behind that content.

This is a camera-and-lighting role for someone who loves being on set. You will shoot original content for the Network in our studio and out in the field, light interviews, run the camera, and keep the footage pipeline moving. It is built to grow: the right person will take on more over time and travel for shoots as the slate expands.

Responsiblities

• Shooting: Capture original video for MASONRY STRONG Network shows, both in the studio and on location.
• Lighting: Set up and run lighting for interviews and shoots. This is a lighting-heavy role.
• Camera: Assemble and operate the camera package. Our studio shoots on the Sony FX9.
• Interviews: Capture clean, broadcast-quality interviews and direct or adjust subjects on camera as the moment calls for it.
• Footage pipeline: Pull media off SD cards, organize and label files, and move footage into the editing environment so it is ready for post.
• Education content: Support and eventually lead local educational series and shoots.
• Travel: Travel for educational and Cornerstone partner shoots as the role grows.
• On-set support: Help break down sets and gear, and pitch in wherever a small production team needs hands.

Skills/Background

• Hands-on camera operation experience and comfort assembling and running a camera package. Experience on the Sony FX9 or comparable cinema cameras is a plus.
• Strong lighting skills for interviews and on-location shoots.
• Familiarity with at least one professional editing platform (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar) and a solid grasp of footage management and file workflows.
• The ability to capture quality interviews and confidently direct on-camera subjects.
• A willingness to travel for shoots as the role expands.
• The discipline to read and follow a production brief and show up prepared.
• A team-first attitude and the ability to work well in a small, fast-moving shop.
• A degree in film, television, or a related production field is preferred but not required. We care more about the reel than the diploma.

Location and details

Full-time, on-site at MCAA's headquarters in Algonquin, IL, with most production based out of our in-house studio. Some travel for shoots as the role grows.

Salary And Compensation

Salary will be $40,000-$45,000 or fit to experience. Benefits include paid time off, sick time, 401k match, and health insurance for employee.
