Job Summary

Own the video production pipeline from concept to on-set direction and post, with statewide shoots and rapid-response content for political/government storytelling.

  • Creative & production ownership: script, storyboards, briefing, and on-set direction for high-profile talent.
  • Field and studio shoots: manage docu-style shoots, crew staffing, and post-production notes to editors.
  • Trend-driven opportunities: translate policy, government messaging, and current events into compelling video concepts for broad audiences.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and develop video and creative concepts.
  • Manage the production process for and guide post-production of various video projects.
  • Lead creative preparation for and on-set direction of crew and talent for creative concepts - including writing scripts, drafting briefing materials, storyboarding, etc. - both in-studio and out in the field as necessary.
  • Provide notes and direction to video editors - both for fully-owned video productions and edits from existing footage.
  • When needed, shoot docu-style social video using smartphone rig (and/or other camera depending on experience / comfort level).
  • Stay plugged in to social/digital/video trends, government policy, news items, and culture that could contribute to developing new creative opportunities.
  • Travel statewide for shoots and related work; on-call after typical work hours including weekends.
