Alpha School is looking for a highly organized, proactive Video Operations Manager to keep a growing slate of video projects moving from request through completion. You’ll create visibility across active productions, coordinate handoffs and next steps, and make sure important work does not fall through the cracks.

You’ll also play a key role in onboarding and operationally supporting Alpha School’s growing network of Campus and Regional Storytellers. This is an operations role, not a creative-director role: video leadership owns creative direction and priorities; you turn those decisions into organized action.

• Maintain a clear, current view of Alpha’s active video slate - owner, status, priority, next step, blockers, and deadlines.
• Turn meeting decisions, requests, and feedback into clear assignments and follow-through.
• Track videos from initial request through production, edit, review, revisions, and completion.
• Coordinate editors and production resources around changing priorities; surface blockers early and follow up on outstanding actions.
• Help recruit, onboard, and operationally support Alpha School Campus and Regional Storyteller network.
• Manage onboarding logistics including paperwork, vendor setup, background-check status, access, documentation, and production readiness.
• Maintain production calendars, trackers, and shared sources of truth across the Core Video Team.
• Support staffing and logistics for shoots as needed, while building simple, repeatable systems that make the video operation easier to run.

• Owning creative direction, story development, or final editorial decisions.
• Serving only as a tracker or scheduler. This role requires proactive ownership, follow-through, and independent problem-solving.
• Letting routine blockers sit or escalating every operational issue to leadership instead of helping drive it to resolution.

• Professional experience in video production, post-production, production operations, project coordination, or a comparable fast-moving environment.
• Exceptional organization and the ability to keep many simultaneous projects, owners, deadlines, and next steps straight.
• Proactive follow-through - you notice what is stuck, ask the right questions, and keep work moving without constant direction.
• Working knowledge of video production and post-production workflows, with enough fluency to coordinate editors, producers, and field teams effectively.
• Clear, concise communication and the ability to turn a large amount of moving information into useful action and updates.
• Comfort building practical systems and processes where structure does not yet exist.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and comfort working in a fast-changing environment.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

• Experience with distributed crews, multi-location productions, or high-volume content teams.
• Familiarity with Frame.io, production trackers, shared calendars, cloud storage, or similar collaborative systems.
• Strong fluency with AI tools and an interest in using them to improve production workflows, documentation, and quality control.
