JV Studios is seeking a skilled, motivated and creative Video Editor & Creative Associate to support our media production team. This role is ideal for an aspiring creative professional eager to gain hands-on experience in video editing, content creation, studio operations, and on-site production experience. This role will work closely with our creative team to produce engaging visual content, assist with project workflows, and contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enthusiastic about storytelling through video, and ready to learn in a professional studio setting.  

• Assist in cutting video footage for client projects, social media, and promotional materials using DaVinci Resolve and other editing software.  

• Support the creative team in organizing and preparing raw footage, including logging, labeling, archiving media assets, and building project files.  

• Report directly to the Creative Director, support the creative process with various and ranging miscellaneous tasks

• Collaborate with producers, directors, and editors to ensure video projects align with client briefs, brand guidelines, and creative vision.   

• When presented, assist in brainstorming and developing concepts for video content, including storyboards or mood boards for pitches and projects.  

• Manage and organize digital assets, ensuring project files are accessible and properly stored using tools like Google Drive, Vimeo, Dropbox, Google Tasks/Spaces and other studio-specific systems.  

• Provide general support during productions, such as setting up equipment, managing props, managing audio, assisting with lighting, and capturing behind the scenes content.  

• Participate in team meetings, take notes, and track action items to support project progress.  

• Perform minor administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings or organizing studio spaces, to support a smooth workflow.

Experience: No professional experience required; however, any examples of past work, including professional experience, coursework, personal projects, or student films in video editing or media production are a plus. Access to a car for travel and cell phone for communication are a must.

Required Education: No formal education required. Passion and culture-fit are prioritized. 

Skills:

• Basic proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).  

• Familiarity with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Tasks, Chat) for project organization and collaboration.  

• Strong attention to detail and a creative eye for visual storytelling.  

• Ability to take direction, work collaboratively, and adapt to feedback in a fast-paced environment.  

• Basic understanding of social media platforms and video trends (e.g., aspect ratios, content styles).

Personal Attributes: Creative, proactive, eager to learn, and enthusiastic about contributing to a team-oriented studio environment.  

Bonus Points: Experience with motion graphics, photography, audio editing; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) & DaVinci Resolve.

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer.
• Occasional lifting of office supplies or equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Flexible work arrangement (primarily in-office with occasional remote) with schedule based on project needs and leadership travel schedules.
