Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and executes an integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the organization’s brand steward, ensuring consistent application of brand standards across all departments and channels. Establishes and maintains brand guidelines, tone of voice, and visual standards.
  • Oversee brand management, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms.
  • Lead philanthropic marketing and storytelling initiatives that support Development efforts.
  • Oversee executive, board, and organizational communications, including key messaging, presentations, and crisis communications support as needed.
  • Develop and lead the organization’s crisis communication strategy, ensuring timely, transparent, and accurate messaging to protect and uphold the brand’s reputation.
  • Prepare and coach key spokespersons within the Executive Team and Board to deliver consistent, confident, and mission-aligned messaging during crises.
  • Partner with the Risk Committee and key Village staff to identify potential vulnerabilities, establish proactive communication protocols, and ensure alignment with organizational risk management strategies.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive crisis communication plan, including internal and external communication procedures, media response guidelines, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Monitor emerging issues and proactively manage potential reputational risks, leveraging social listening and media monitoring tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 7 years in a leadership role.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with marketing and CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Sprout, and other digital marketing tools preferred.
  • Experience supporting fundraising or philanthropic initiatives through integrated marketing campaigns, storytelling, and donor engagement strategies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning in marketing, communications, and leadership practices.
