Job Summary

Own and govern the executive communications machine, from high-stakes messages to brand-consistent storytelling across the foundation. Shape the institutional voice, build scalable processes, and mentor a cross-functional team to align CEO-level and SLT communications with donors, media, and diverse communities.

  • Executive Communications Ownership: partner with the CEO and SLT on speeches, remarks, op-eds, and high-visibility messaging, ensuring a unified voice
  • Voice & Governance: counsel leaders across divisions on positioning, audience, and messaging risk with scalable templates and editorial calendar discipline
  • Leadership Platform & Representation: act as the foundation-wide resource for communications strategy and external representation to media, donors, and civic partners

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary communications advisor and thought partner to the President/CEO, providing direct support on speeches, public remarks, op-eds, and high-visibility messaging
  • Extend executive communications support beyond the Office of Philanthropy — partnering with the Chief of Staff, Chief Impact Officer, Chief People Officer, CFO, and other senior leaders to ensure consistent voice, framing, and quality across CEO- and SLT-facing communications
  • Act as a foundation-wide resource on communications strategy, counseling senior leaders across divisions on positioning, audience, and messaging risk
  • Build and maintain trusted working relationships with Senior Leadership Team; be the go-to partner for communications counsel
  • Ensure executive and Board-facing communications reflect a single institutional voice consistent with brand standards
  • Develop scalable systems (templates, style guides) for centralized quality control
  • Design and lead the department's integrated communications, marketing, and storytelling strategy
  • Represent CCF with media, donor audiences, and civic partners with credibility
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team of directors and officers across earned media, storytelling, brand, digital, and content operations
  • Oversee management of contracted support (photographers, translators, consultants) as embedded partners
