Job Summary

Own growth through large-scale capture and government contracting, focusing on winning big federal deals, building the proposal engine, and cross-selling into adjacent markets.

  • Capture leadership: own end-to-end lifecycle from opportunity positioning to closing, including Shipley-like processes.
  • Team and pipeline: hire and retain top talent, build cross-functional proposal teams, and drive the proposal pipeline.
  • GovCon excellence: leverage FAR knowledge, pricing discipline, and executive relationships to win multi-million dollar opportunities.

Job Description

Own growth through large-scale capture and government contracting, focusing on winning big federal deals, building the proposal engine, and cross-selling into adjacent markets.

  • Proven track record of sales, business development and capture experience. Must have helped close deals of at least $15M in new business and RFPs. Ability to drive/follow the Account Management and lead the Capture process from opportunity positioning and qualification through proposal development and opportunity closing.
  • Experience helping a small business graduate and be successful in a full and open environment would be relevant to this role.
  • Prior experience with Shipley Business Acquisition process would be valuable.
  • Should have a track record of hiring great talent. Must have a good retention rate with employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to cross-sell capabilities and solutions to adjacent markets. This is a growth role.
  • Must understand the full capture lifecycle and been successful in various customer domains within the federal Civilian sectors. Previous experience with a big four or blue-chip consulting company would be valuable.
  • 10-20 years of GovCon experience, principally in the defense market.
  • Located in the Washington DC area.
  • Expert knowledge of the government procurement process. Knowledge of the FAR and a consistent history of winning.
  • Experience in pricing and helping produce winning proposals.
  • Will have excellent organizational skills and strong network in the federal contracting community. Must have a strong reputation with customers and colleagues.
  • Will be responsible for the proposal pipeline development & the proposal team.
  • Previous experience with a big four or blue-chip consulting company would be valuable.
