We are expanding our Strategic Financial Communications practice and hiring a Vice President to lead client relationships and deliver high-impact advisory work.

The Role

You will serve as a trusted advisor to investment firms and financial institutions, helping them define how they communicate with investors, clients, and the market.

This role blends strategic counsel, narrative development, and program leadership across transaction readiness, investor communications, thought leadership, media strategy, and digital presence.

You will manage client accounts, lead strategic recommendations, and guide multidisciplinary teams across copy, design, research, and digital.

Core Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Account Management

• Serve as a day-to-day strategic partner to clients

• Lead weekly client calls, planning sessions, and presentations

• Translate business goals into communications and marketing strategy

• Manage timelines, scope, and quality of deliverables

Strategic Communications & Narrative Development

• Develop messaging frameworks and positioning for investment firms and platforms

• Advise on fund launches, capital raising, and platform expansion

• Build communications strategies for investor and stakeholder audiences

• Craft narratives for growth, transformation, and new market entry

Investor Relations & Capital Markets Communications

• Support investor communications programs and reporting frameworks

• Develop investor letters, presentations, and communication plans

• Build messaging for investor days, annual meetings, and fundraising initiatives

Thought Leadership & Content Strategy

• Lead editorial and content strategy for financial institutions

• Develop research-driven thought leadership and market commentary

• Guide newsletter, social, podcast, webinar, and video strategy

Digital Presence & Marketing Strategy

• Advise on website strategy and digital positioning

• Build integrated marketing and communications programs

• Align digital presence with institutional credibility

Internal Leadership & Practice Development

• Help refine Collateral's strategic communications offerings and playbooks

• Mentor junior team members and support hiring and training

• Contribute to business development and proposal development

Qualifications

Required Background

• Experience in strategic communications, financial PR, investor relations, or capital markets communications

• Agency or in-house experience serving financial institutions preferred

• Strong understanding of private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge funds, or asset management

• Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills

• Ability to translate complex financial ideas into clear narratives

Professional Skills

• Strong executive presence and client management ability

• Strategic thinker with excellent judgment and attention to detail

• Comfortable managing multiple client engagements simultaneously

• Highly collaborative and calm under pressure
